Senator Clinton's motorcade officer dies after crash.

Subject:
DALLAS - A police motorcycle officer died after a crash while escorting Hillary Rodham Clinton's motorcade to a campaign rally.

My Comment:
My sympathy goes to the family and friends of the un named officer. It seems to be quite frequent for officers to crash and die on duty for politicians because;
(1) Albuquerque police officer Germaine Casey, age 40, died on August 27, 2006 when he crashed as President Bush returned to the airport after a fundraiser for Sen. Pete Domenici.
(2) In November 2006, Honolulu police Officer Steve Favela died when he and two other motorcycle officers crashed while part of a presidential motorcade.

U.S Embassy Burns

Subject: BELGRADE, Serbia - A charred body was found inside the U.S. Embassy Thursday after Serb rioters protesting Kosovo's declaration of independence set fire to offices there.

My Comment: This is a disgrace. An Embassy compound is considered to be an extension of that country in that land. Who are these rioters? Do they know basic international relations? How ignorant and disrespectful. They have shamed their fellow citizens (the ones that have knowledge, pride and want to get along with the outside world, that is).

Golden Krust "Pennies for Change"

Fundraising: Pennies for Change" This is an innovative program that allows customers in any of GKs 100+ stores and other locations such as Consulate Offices of Caribbean countries, churches and supermarkets to donate coins that will assist in providing scholarships. The funds collected will be used to continue to advance education programs such as the Mavis Hawthorne Scholarship, Bronx Community College Scholarship program and assist in the development of a Franchise Program in the University of the West Indies (UWI) curriculum. Pennies for Change will also offer assistance to Oberlin High School and educational projects in Caribbean countries.

My Comment: With 120 locations, spread across 8 states, collecting pennies to assist in making changes in people’s lives, this solicitation effort will be really successful. The availability of collection apparatus in other places mentioned (Consulate Offices of Caribbean countries, churches and supermarkets) really serve to significantly increase the donations to this drive. Do you see the multiplication potential of this “innovative program”?
